Project: Seven Bar Dairy

During September and October of 1999 Kaul Corporation provided Seven Bar Dairy with approximately 500,000 sf of CETCO Bentomat ST and Claymax CL.

Location - Wiggins, CO

The project involved lining an evaporation lagoon to comply with state and local stormwater runoff regulations.  Originally the design called for Bentomat ST on the side slopes and native clay on the lagoon floor.  Upon excavation to final grade it was determined that the clay source was insufficient.  A design change to incorporate Claymax CL on the lagoon floor was finalized.

All of the GCL received a 12” - 18” cover of on-site material.  Installation of the product was done by the owner; with technical assistance provided by Kaul Corporation.  Proving that American ingenuity is alive and well, the dairy farmers devised a system to install one roll (2,250 sf) every fifteen minutes.  The project, which was done in two phases, was successfully completed in November 1999.
